For anyone who has followed Go Get It LIFE over the past several years, you’ve probably caught on by now that I really like smoothies. They are quick, easy to make, easy to clean up, usually taste pretty good (I’m always experimenting!), and you can make them as healthy (and as unhealthy too, of course) as you want to.
For me, personally, I like to incorporate all of the macros (protein, fat, and carbs) to keep myself satiated until the next meal. It also helps out with keeping your mood in check – no sugar/carb mood swings. I concocted this awesome smoothie a few months back and it’s been my go – to smoothie for a while now for meals and post workout snacks.
S’s Purple Power Protein Smoothie
Makes 2 servings
2 cups Forager cashew/coconut milk
75 grams frozen bananas, sliced into discs
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup whole frozen cherries
1/8 cup coconut manna
2 scoops Garden of Life RAW no stevia unflavored protein powder
6 leaves Romaine lettuce
Blend in a blender and enjoy with a friend.
As always, goof off with it! Have a different type of protein powder? Try it. Don’t like cherries? Try strawberries. Have kale? Throw it in. Not quite sweet enough? Add a few banana slices… etc. Use your imagination and let us all know how it worked out!
