Happy New Year + Thank You

By Meghan Rossi

And away we go! New year, new chance…

Here we go.  It’s the first week of a new year, a new decade even.  Anyone with a microphone or keyboard is blasting out about “new year, new you” and resolutions, resolutions, resolutions.

Why do we allow for a new calendar to roll out before putting pen to paper and deciding to make adjustments to our life that have been lingering in the back of our mind?  Why do we put off change?  It kind of makes it take on a bigger life than is necessary. Perhaps that is why so many resolutions fall off by February.  Not much of a shelf life for the pressing things lurking in your subconscious, eh?

What if, we realized the truth?  That every day, and in fact every breath, is a chance for a reset.  What if, instead of putting so much pressure and expectations on January 1st we allowed our goals to manifest as they come?

Right now, you have the chance to pick up the phone and make the call.  Perhaps that call is one of reconciliation, or to a new job, a new relationship, a new school, a friend to schedule a hangout, or to that new art class you’ve been wanting to try, or to a childcare provider who would grant you more time to focus on a professional project or exercise program?

The point is, the possibilities are endless when you see each new day as a chance at a fresh start.  If you’re still breathing, there is still time. There is a constant flow of renewal and new beginnings.  Take that leap.  Make the changes necessary that get you closer to living your best life.

Not to pivot on you too much, but before you click off this message I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude for a banner year for Go Get It LIFE.  2019 saw new growth in online engagement, an expanded blog presence on GoGetItLIFE.com with the addition of Contributing Writers Sarah Wylde and Chanda Alicea.  The new year brought with it the expansion of our Mindfulness Collaboration with Justin Ryan Books. We now have our Mindfulness Logbook and Mindfulness Journal.

This year brought charitable support for the Center for Child Protection (Austin, TX).

We launched our Book Club with our first two selections: UnFu*K Yourself by Gary John Bishop, and Make Your Bed by Admiral William McRaven.

Go Get It LIFE is supported by our online store.  Through sales we pay for website and social media costs, and make donations to charities.  Your ongoing support of our online store is MUCH appreciated!

Overall, thank you for being a part of the Go Get It LIFE community. When Theo and I founded GGIL back in 2014, we had a dream to connect people, to encourage open discussion, to break down barriers, to be a source of positive news and motivation, and ultimately: to encourage everyone to live their best life.

THANK YOU for being a supporter of that dream.  Cheers to the past five years, and cheers to a whole new year of growing and making a positive change… in ourselves, our families, and our communities.

hugs,

Meghan
