Setting Mindful Goals in 2019

With the end of 2018, comes the groundwork for the following year where we try to plan meaningful and impactful goals. Goals come in all shapes and sizes, whether it is related to education, finance, bettering yourself, and helping others. Remember, goal setting is more than saying you want something to happen, you will have to work hard towards them to be successful. So here we are in 2019, what are your goals?

Setting mindful goals can be accomplished with recognizing and focusing on your emotions, thoughts and being in the moment. In choosing how you see your life and being thankful for what you have not focused on what you don’t, will give you a clear mind when evaluating what you want to strive towards in the future.

Personally, when I sit down to write down my goals, I use the acronym SMART to help.

Specific:

When you write down your goal, break it down to be very clear and specific, so there is no confusion. The more information you provide, the less likely it will be that you lose interest.

Measurable:

Take accountability for what you wrote. Set aside time each week to sit down and track your process. By doing that you can see the changes as it progresses.

Achievable:

Set challenging but not impossible goals, that can be achieved with where you are in location, funds, etc.

Realistic:

Make your goals realistic there is no harm in starting with small goals.

Timed:

With each goal give it a target end date.

I hope with the help of the above to follow; you can set goals with knowing you achieved what you set out to do. So, what are your goals?

Have a wonderful 2019, until next time.
