Hey Go Get It Life Family!
My name is Brieanna and I was one of the lucky winners of the Forgiveness Gratitude Challenge. I wrote about my struggle to forgive myself after an abusive relationship and a suicide attempt. Opening up was one of the most difficult things I have done, but I’m so glad that I did.
It was during the Hangout with Theo, Meghan, and the rest of the winners when the topic of getting out of your comfort zone and shaking things up came about. I stepped out of my comfort zone when I entered my story and it was an amazing experience!
This really got me thinking about my life. I have let fear, guilt, and anxiety keep me from really living my life. I’ve stayed tucked in my safe little space and kept to myself. Where’s the fun in that?! I’ve missed out on SO many things because I’ve been anxious about being seen, what people will think, worrying about failing, or just plain not feeling good enough. I needed to make a change!
I knew I needed to push myself to live! I don’t want to let fear and doubt control me for the rest of my life. It’s already done that so far! I was feeling so inspired that it gave me an idea. I decided that for one whole year I would choose to do one thing each week that would push me outside of my normal. To see, feel, and experience things outside the safety of my couch. 52 chances to get out of my own way and help me figure out who I am without the guilt and trauma. I mentioned the idea to Meghan and she offered to post my adventures on Go Get It Life each week! What?!
My first thought was “Umm me? Really? I can’t do that!”. Uhh hello! This is the EXACT reason I’ve missed out on things! Talking myself out of something before it even starts just because I’m scared! So I replied with a big fat “Yes!” and started making a list of things to do on this adventure. How hard could it be? *nervous laughter*
Now, I’m not talking about taking a cross country trip or a tropical retreat (dang!). I want things that anyone could do to push themselves. It shouldn’t cost a fortune to live your best life! Sometimes something simple can have a huge impact. I’m just a girl with a ton of anxiety and a desire to push it back a little each week. Writing about my experiences will help keep me accountable, but I also hope that my adventures will give you a little inspiration to live outside your own comfort zone. Or at the very least provide a chuckle or two!
Let’s Go Get Life together!
YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! Cant wait to read all about it.. DARE GREATLY!
