Hi everyone! This week I thought I would talk about a fun and creative way to set personal goals. What I am talking about is a vision board, also called a dream board. This reminds me of one of my favorite quotes, “The universe is my classroom.” Which I think fits very well with this topic.
If you are not familiar with what that is, it is a tangible and creative way to visualize the goals you set for yourself. They are filled with positive quotes, images, affirmations, and more that are personal to you. A vision board should motivate and inspire you to work hard.
I remember doing vision boards in school and also on my own growing up. I had gotten in the habit of doing one each year and would have it hanging on the back of my door, so I saw it every day. I know what you may be thinking. If it is digital, how will you be able to see it each day? Easy, almost every day we are on computers, phones, iPads, or other electronic devices. So, what I have done with my vision board is to make it my phone’s wallpaper and my computer’s desktop background. Now anytime I am working at home or go to use something on my phone, I see it and am reminded of my dreams and what I am working towards.
Here are some free apps and programs where you can make an online vision board:
• PicMonkey
• Canva
• Dream Vision Board App
• Vision Board App
• DreamitAlive
I use Canva since I am more familiar with that one then the rest. I then make a checklist of the items that I want to include on my vision board. This year’s sections on my digital vision board include health, finances, work, travel, spirituality, self-care, and relationships. What you put on yours will depend on your goals are when you do a mental inventory after you have done that it is time to set time aside to work on it. Light some candles, have a diffuser going with a calming blend, relaxing music, and create! Then, trust that the universe will provide and teach you.
Until next time, stay safe and take care of yourselves.
